How To Play
If you know how to play table shuffleboard, then you pretty much
know how to play Sholf.
The object of Sholf is to putt your golf balls further into the
scoring end than your opponent. Point values increase, as you get
closer to the edge of the green. The first player or team of
players to 13 wins.
1. Players determine who goes first. Player or team of players
putting first have choice of ball color.
2. Players alternate putts from behind the (2) line to the
opposite end of the green until all eight balls are shot. Balls
that do not cross the (F)oul line are immediately removed before
the next ball is played.
3. Optional (but recommended): Mulligan balls are putted here. See
Below
4. The score for the round is tallied. Sholf is scored just like
table shuffleboard. Only the team with the closest ball(s) to the
scoring end receive points. Balls must be completely cross the
line to get the higher point value.
5. This concludes one round of Sholf. Player or teams of players
now putt toward the opposite end of the playing green. The
previous round’s point winner putts first.
MULLIGAN BALLS: After the initial eight balls are played, each
player re-putts their furthest ball from the scoring end. This is
called the mulligan ball. The player who is not in scoring
position putts their mulligan ball first. A player can only make
contact with their mulligan ball with the putter.
Knocking your opponents’ balls off of the green and combo shots
are encouraged and sometimes necessary! Points are tallied after
both player’s mulligan balls are shot. |
